Street core
Siam Square, Lido Connect and Siam Square One south of Rama I Road.

Siam (สยาม) here means Siam Square (สยามสแควร์) and the shopping and cultural places around Siam BTS Station (สถานี BTS สยาม), not one mall and not the historical name for Thailand. Shopping is the main reason to come: Siam Paragon (สยามพารากอน), Siam Center (สยามเซ็นเตอร์), Siam Discovery (สยามดิสคัฟเวอรี่), Siam Square One (สยามสแควร์ วัน) and MBK Center (ศูนย์การค้า MBK Center) sit around the open-air streets. Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (หอศิลปวัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานคร) and Lido Connect (ลิโด้ คอนเน็คท์) add exhibitions, film and ticketed performances. Allow half a day for one cultural stop and selected shops, or a full day if adding an aquarium or wax museum.
Details may change — verify before visiting.
Siam works as a shopping district whose open-air streets lead into malls, a reused cinema and a public art centre.
Shopping defines Siam, but the district is not one continuous shopping centre. Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, MBK Center and Siam Square One are separate properties arranged around Siam BTS Station and the open-air Siam Square streets. The useful way to plan a visit is to choose the kind of shopping you want, then add one cultural or ticketed place.
Siam Square keeps the visit at street level. PMCU describes it as an open-air shopping street, and architectural research shows how the grid developed around low-rise shops, offices and cinemas. Lido Connect carries part of that cinema history into a new use: one hall can screen independent films, while the others can host concerts and performing arts when the programme calls for them.
BACC provides the clearest break from retail. Its galleries spiral upward around the atrium, with main exhibitions on the upper floors and smaller displays, shops and an art library below. General exhibition entry is free except for special events, which makes it possible to give the current programme an hour without committing to a ticket.
Some older attraction names still appear in tourism material but should not shape a current route. Kid Zania Bangkok (คิดซาเนีย แบงค์คอก) is reported permanently closed, while Magic Art Museum Bangkok (พิพิธภัณฑ์มหัศจรรย์แห่งศิลป์กรุงเทพ) is reported no longer operating at MBK Center. The Queen Savang Vadhana Museum (พิพิธภัณฑ์สมเด็จพระพันวัสสาอัยยิกาเจ้า) remains a real museum at Sa Pathum Palace, but its official site does not currently announce normal public opening; wait for a museum notice before building a visit around it.
A former cinema, a public art centre and five shopping centres all keep their own doors, programmes and rules.
Sources: PMCU and mall operators for the shopping district; BACC and Lido Connect for cultural venues; attraction operators for tickets and current visitor conditions.
Siam (สยาม) here is the shopping and cultural district around Siam BTS Station, centred on Siam Square and extending to Siam Paragon on the north side and BACC and MBK Center on the west. It is a practical reference ring rather than an official boundary. It does not mean the former name of Thailand, the whole of Pathum Wan district or a single shopping centre.
Loading the real boundary…
Siam Square, Lido Connect and Siam Square One south of Rama I Road.
Siam Paragon, Siam Center and Siam Discovery around the north side of Siam BTS Station.
Bangkok Art and Culture Centre and MBK Center around National Stadium BTS Station.
Use Siam BTS Station (สถานี BTS สยาม) for the shopping-centre and Siam Square side. National Stadium BTS Station (สถานี BTS สนามกีฬาแห่งชาติ) connects directly with BACC’s third-floor entrance at the western edge.
This route runs from the north side of Siam BTS Station west toward BACC and MBK Center, then returns through Siam Square. Treat the stops as choices if you are adding a ticketed attraction: SEA LIFE or Madame Tussauds can take the place of several shorter stops.
Parking is managed separately by BACC and the shopping centres; check the conditions at the property you plan to use.

Walk one section of Siam Square, see the current BACC exhibitions and choose one shopping centre for food or browsing.
Choose SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World or Madame Tussauds Bangkok, then keep the remaining time for a meal and one nearby shopping centre.
Browse the open-air streets, then attend Lido Connect only when its published programme has something you want to see.
Inside Siam Square, individual shopfronts and short blocks remain visible beneath the elevated station and beside the shopping centres.
The former cinema survives through the shape and names of halls now used for screenings, live music and performing arts.
The gallery floors curve around a central opening, allowing the building itself to guide the climb toward the main exhibitions.
The bookable performance spot outside Siam Paragon measures 2×4 metres, accommodates one to three performers and has no electricity supply.
Korean-style buffet meals around ฿300–400.
Teochew-style Chinese seafood with prices starting around ฿1,000.
A halal restaurant; no usable price band was provided.
The venue feed contains restaurant names and price bands rather than live opening information, so check current operation before making a special trip for one place.
BACC states that net revenue from its shop supports the art centre’s operations.
Restaurant prices and attraction tickets can change; check the current menu or booking page.
Siam is managed by several station, street, mall and cultural-venue operators. Check the notice belonging to the place you are entering rather than assuming one timetable or access statement covers the whole area.
BTS service, BACC hours, the Soi 7 Walking Street and Lido programmes all change independently.
At BACC, leave food and drinks outside the galleries, avoid touching the art and follow photography signs on individual works.
BACC has lifts and wheelchair facilities inside the building, but plan street connections separately if step-free travel is essential.
Songkran attendance figures describe a special event, not an ordinary day. During programmed festivals, keeping phones and bags close is sensible.
The space outside Siam Paragon is a bookable stage, not permanent street theatre. Ask before photographing performers at close range.
Late morning suits BACC and the paid indoor attractions, which currently begin admitting visitors around 10:00. Friday to Sunday is the published period for the Siam Square Soi 7 Walking Street, though events still depend on the current programme.
Allow 4–5 hours for one cultural venue, selected shops and a meal. A paid attraction and wider shopping circuit can fill a full day.
Some of these sit just outside this page’s area — flagged below.

Siam is not one mall. This page covers Siam Square and five surrounding shopping centres: Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, Siam Square One and MBK Center.
General exhibition entry is currently free, except for special events. BACC opens Tuesday–Sunday from 10:00 to 20:00 and closes on Mondays, New Year and Songkran holidays; check its current notice before travelling.
PMCU identifies Friday–Sunday as the Walking Street period. That does not guarantee a market, concert or other event on every visit.
Kid Zania Bangkok is reported permanently closed. Magic Art Museum Bangkok is also reported no longer operating at MBK Center. Neither belongs on a current walking route.
The museum’s official site does not currently announce normal public opening. Past openings used limited date windows, so wait for a new official notice before planning around it.
BACC general exhibitions are free except for special events. Current online prices start around ฿690 for Madame Tussauds and ฿799 for SEA LIFE, while a combined ticket starts around ฿899. Prices and conditions can change.
