CityWiki

A field guide to Bangkok’s neighborhoods, built from real CityMETER data — so you know a place before you go.

Why CityWiki

What CityWiki does

Every guide turns scattered city data into one clear read — before you plan, while you’re there, and after.

Know before you go

Understand what a neighborhood is actually like — not just its name on a map.

Read like a local guide

Routes, food, and things to do — woven into one story, not a list of links.

Practical, not just pretty

Budget, best time to visit, transport, and fit — the questions you'd actually ask a local.

Grounded in CityMETER

The guides draw on Landometer’s CityMETER datasets. Each card below opens the dataset itself.

Where the data comes from

Bureau of Registration Administration, Department of Provincial Administration — Monthly age, sex and area dimensions align with DOPA statistics for people listed in house registration.

What period the data covers

Selections start in 2013. Use the reference month shown for the selected data, not a claim of the population at this moment.

Before making a decision

Use for age-structure planning, but call it registered population—not daytime, resident or live population.

This badge confirms same-dataset lineage through an official owner channel. It does not mean every file was downloaded directly from the central GD Catalog.

Where the data comes from

3D-GloBFP / OpenStreetMap for V4; Google Research for V3 — V4 uses 3D-GloBFP by Che et al. and OpenStreetMap; V3 uses Open Buildings. Read attribution with the selected version.

What period the data covers

Available version labels: V3 May 2023 and V4 December 2024; these are not survey dates for every building.

Before making a decision

Building coverage and derived values may be incomplete or inaccurate. Use them to study development patterns, then check records or field evidence for an individual building.

Monthly and provincial summaries. Read the selected month, year and units; figures may be revised later.

Before making a decision

Compare visitors, receipts, seasonality, activities and attractions. Visitor counts are not unique people and figures may be revised.
